Following on from the successful launch last year of the new ‘MK Wiring Systems’ website, MK Electric, a Honeywell business has now benefited from an innovative online marketing campaign that has enabled them to promote their latest products and provide product training, whilst simultaneously enabling them to improve the quality of their customer database.

The new Flash-based microsite, developed by MK Electric Wiring System’s existing website supplier netXtra, was specifically designed to demonstrate and promote the new Prestige 3D Cable Management system to over 8000 of MK Electric’s targeted customers. Furthermore, it has allowed MK to systematically update and cleanse their customer database in return for a gift incentive.

Customers were invited to log into the secure microsite with the incentive of receiving a free digital weather station. They were then shown a short Flash-based product demonstration, followed by a 5 minute online product training video. Finally, customers were then asked to review, and if required, update their contact details. Ultimately, this allowed MK Electric to automatically bring their customer database up to date, saving them time and money on administration.

Commenting on the success of the campaign, Emma Segelov, MK Electric’s Customer Marketing Manager said “netXtra have delivered us a fantastic online campaign that has exceeded our expectations and that of our customers. The final solution has been a real ‘win-win’ for everyone - we’ve managed to promote our new Prestige 3D Cable Management System to the whole of our customer base using an engaging online presentation, and our customers have received quick and convenient online product training presented in a way that’s informative and appealing to them.” She went on to say, “And the ‘icing on the cake’ is that we can now be assured that our database is current, meaning that any future communications between ourselves and our customers are properly targeted and relevant”.
