Following the launches of websites for ABTA, ISBA and Football Association of Wales, netXtra have now developed, launched and are hosting the newly rebranded NCT’s website - www.nct.org.uk.

The launch of the new, dynamic website will enable the NCT, a charity formerly known as the National Childbirth Trust, to reach out and help a greater number of new parents from all backgrounds.

Features on the site include a comprehensive and easily searchable Information Centre, where new and expectant parents can get answers to concerns relating to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Sources include detailed articles, publications and e-group forums where users can share questions and experiences.

Another useful function of the site is an area where parents can submit questions and receive answers from an NCT registered expert. Similarly, there are pages where parents can obtain dedicated helpline contact details, as well as links to other related websites of interest.

Complete with a multi-level authorisation site administration structure, the website’s content management system (CMS) allows authorised NCT representatives around the UK to maintain their own specific areas of the website. Subsequently, each individual NCT branch can now manage the content of their own pages and keep information regarding local support, antenatal & postnatal courses, events and contact details up to date. This in turn saves the NCT time and money continuously updating the site from their central office and ensures that all areas remain relevant and up to date. Similarly, visitors can also use the site’s postcode search facility to quickly find contact details and other information from their local branch.

Prakash Patel, NCT Digital and Design Manager, said; “The NCT is a charity that has a lot to offer parents from all backgrounds. We want our new website, developed by netXtra, to enable us to engage and interact with all new and expectant parents in a way that is useful, appealing and convenient to them.” Mr Patel, continued; “We wanted a content managed website that would help NCT volunteers in over 300 local branches across the UK, to publish information relevant to local parents. We are delighted with the new website developed by netXtra and have already started to see the results with many more visitors.”

As well as supporting new parents, the NCT website offers health professionals such as midwives, doctors and specialist workers an area where they can get details about training and forthcoming conferences and workshops.

Other features on the new site include areas specifically designed to generate funds for the NCT. These include a function for supporter donations, and a new feature that gives commercial organisations the opportunity to place targeted advertisements on pages related to their product or service.
