netXtra delivers new website promoting British training overseas
netXtra have recently launched the new TVET UK, (Technical and Vocational Education and Training, United Kingdom) website - www.tvetuk.org - together with a resourceful new members' Extranet site.
Globally representing the UK vocational education and training sector, TVET UK is an independent and self supporting organisation that has been created by the sector for the sector. With a flexible remit, TVET UK, whose members include awarding bodies, national agencies, sector skills councils, educational suppliers, further education colleges and private training providers, has one sole objective - to create additional business for the UK vocational education and training sector.
Fittingly, the new TVET UK website and Extranet developed by netXtra are both being hailed as a huge leap forward for British vendors and their international clients, who now have an excellent new way to invest in, and benefit from, British expertise and advice.
Complete with netXtra’s integral content management system (CMS), the new website allows TVET UK administrators to manage both sites in unison, from any PC, anywhere in the world. Consolidating the administration for the website and Extranet ultimately saves TVET UK money on licensing fees. Furthermore, the site’s comprehensive CMS gives TVET UK the option to promote their services to more countries, with the ability to add language translations such as Spanish, Arabic and Chinese. These can then be selected on the website by the visitor as required.
An area where the website is proving invaluable is where registered clients from around the world can forward business tender documents to TVET UK for distribution to members. TVET UK then posts them onto the new Extranet site where members can view them and forward bids where appropriate. Members can also use the Extranet to access members’ papers, reports and case studies, as well as use it to update their own personal details. It is also another area where non-members can be directed to further promote the benefits of membership.
Both website and Extranet also have many other useful features. Amongst them is an ‘Events’ page that includes an innovative new interactive calendar that details forthcoming shows and seminars worldwide. There is also a search facility that allows users to instantly find content relating to particular topics listed within a drop-down menu. Visitors can also use the site's inbuilt Google co-op search facility to find suppliers and member colleges.
Commenting on the website Matthew Anderson, Business Development Manager for TVET UK said “Customers expect to be able access information online and the website is often their first port of call. It is vital that we have a flexible user friendly site that can be updated quickly and remotely. netXtra have provided this for us and we are delighted with the results”.
